Security enhancement of virtual barn access outside UST campus (effective from 14th Jan 2019)

To further enhance the security level of the virtual barn environment, ITSC is going to enforce the use of Secure Remote Access (VPN) and 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) for the access of virtual barn outside of HKUST campus effective from 14th Jan 2019.

If you would like to access virtual barn from home after 14th Jan 2019, please setup and connect the VPN according to the following instructions.

During the connection with VPN, you will also receive a 2FA login request on your registered device. The VPN connection will only be established after you approve the Login Request from the 2FA.

This tightens the connection to the virtual barn when you are not accessing through the HKUST campus network. Connection via campus wifi or physical network will not be affected.
