Anti-virus in Campus
Anti-virus program protecting your computer from any malware that your machine might come into contact with and helping the university fight against latest cyber security threats. Malware refers to any software written with malicious intent including viruses, trojan horses, spyware, adware, worms, rootkits, keyloggers, and ransomware among others. To protect your computer at work or home, ITSC provides the following recommendations and anti-virus program to Staff and Students.
Notes: License of F-Secure for Windows was expired on 1st January 2023. Windows users are required to remove it from their computers. Refer to the Getting Started section below for more information.

Getting Started
Windows 11 or 10
- For university-owned computers, the anti-virus feature is offered by Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) thru Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) enrollment.
- For personal computers, we recommend Microsoft Defender Anti-virus (MDAV) which is built-in from Windows OS and turn on by default. Please refer to the section, "Turn Microsoft Defender Antivirus real-time protection on or off" in this webpage for more information.
Apple macOS
- We recommend to install F-Secure Client Security for mac. We also recommend to enable macOS built-in Gatekeeper to ensure that only trusted software runs on your computers.
