Setting up Android Device to Access CSL Wi-Fi Service

This page provides sample instructions for HKUST Staff & Students in setting up Android devices (e.g. smartphones, tablets) to connect to CSL Wi-Fi Service. This is a general guideline as different brands may have widely different network configuration steps and from past experience may change from generation to generation.

In general, we recommend upgrading to the latest Android OS version to get the smoothest surfing experience, please check your device's documentation on obtaining / installing updated software.


Configure and Access CSL Wi-Fi Service

Step 1: Bring up Wireless Network Connection Menu
  1. Select Menu > Settings > Networks & Internet > Wi-Fi

  2. Select Universities via CSL

Step 2: Configure Wireless Network Properties
  1. Enter wireless network information

    • EAP method: PEAP

    • Phase-2 authentication: MSCHAPV2

    • CA certificate: Use system certificates

    • Online Certificate Status: Do not validate

    • Domain: wireless.ust.hk

    • Identity: your ITSC Network Account with "@ust.hk"

    • password: your ITSC Network Account Password

    • Select CONNECT
