Setting up Windows 10 Device to Access eduroam Wi-Fi

This page provides sample instructions for HKUST Staff & Students to set up Windows 10 devices to connect to eduroam Wi-Fi.

Configure and Access eduroam Wi-Fi

Step 1: Bring Up Wireless Network Connection Menu

  1. Click Network icon in the system tray ( located at bottom right corner normally )

  2. Select eduroam

  3. Tick Connect automatically ( Note: If you don't want to store the password, please untick it )

  4. Click Connect

Step 2: Enter User Name and Password

  1. Enter your ITSC Network Account with "@ust.hk" in Username field

  2. Enter your ITSC Network Account Password in Password field

  3. Click OK

Step 3: Verify Server Identity

  1. Click Show certificate details

  2. Make sure

    • Issued to is wireless.ust.hk

    • Issued by is Thawte TLS RSA CA G1

    • Server thumbprint is 8F 32 B6 85 0A 9D C6 CE FB 34 87 5F FC 7C C2 05 3C 1B D7 43

  3. Click Connect

Congratulations! You have connected to eduroam Wi-Fi!
