Dear Researchers,

I refer to the email from the Provost and VP-RD dated 8-Oct-2024 regarding the upcoming release of the 4th generation high-performance computing cluster (HPC4). The new HPC4 cluster is now officially rolled out after a pilot run, and I would like to provide you with additional details:

1. While HPC4 will ultimately become a charged service, it is available now under a free trial period until 31-Jan-2025. While no actual charges are incurred initially, a mock “monthly statement” will be issued to all participating PIs during this trial period for their reference regarding potential charges.
    
2. Principal Investigators (PIs) who are interested in participating in the HPC4 free trial may refer to the HPC4 website for details and complete this account application form.
    
3. The first “Call for Contribution” to HPC4 also commences now under the “Community Cluster Model”. Researchers should submit their proposals by 31-Oct-2024. Details regarding the contribution model can be found on this webpage.
    
4. A briefing session on the new HPC4 cluster is scheduled towards the end of Oct 2024.
