Channel Newsletter - Fall 2016

Dear all,

You are cordially invited to take a look at the latest issue of our newsletter "Channel" for some quick updates on campus IT.  In this issue, we will discuss the results of our annual user satisfaction survey, and take the chance to introduce our Service Desk team, our major arm delivering IT and A/V support services.  It is being supplemented by a team of student interns who are engaged not only in serving the University community but also for developing professional skills, as explained in an accompanying article.

Updates on exciting IT enhancements for teaching, learning, research and administration are covered. While we are progressively modernizing our IT infrastructure, we found ourselves more and more into the “cloud computing” paradigm that has opened up new opportunities as well as threats.  Quite a few articles are related to cybersecurity that is doubtlessly an important issue and demands continual vigilance from every member of the University. Last but not least, we all concern about protecting our environment and some simple ideas on sustainable IT are shared.
