Join @Connect Pilot Test and Win Asus Transformer Book T100 Windows Tablet

Dear Students,

With generous help from the Students’ Union, I am pleased to announce that a Lifetime Email Service for students – namely “@Connect”, will be launched starting from mid-March.

@Connect is based on Microsoft’s Office 365 cloud solution and will offer you a set of collaboration tools including email, calendaring, document authoring and other social networking functions. With @Connect, students can retain their @Connect email address after graduation for better continuity and stay in touch with friends, as well as enjoying goodies like downloading Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to your own PCs/Macs/Smart devices.

After service launch, newly admitted students will have @Connect as their official University email accounts. For existing students, you will be invited to opt-in and migrate your existing email account to @Connect. If you choose to do so, your email address will be in the form of <account name>@connect.ust.hk, and retained for lifetime. To minimize impact on existing users, emails sent to old addresses of students migrated to @Connect will all be redirected properly. With the gradual adoption of @Connect, you may start to see more and more messages sent from email addresses in the form of <account name>@connect.ust.hk.

In preparation for the launch, we would like to invite you to participate as the first group of 100 early adopters to pilot test the new @Connect service. The early adopters will need to attend a briefing session (1.5hrs), use the system, as well as attending a feedback session (1hr) after two weeks.

To encourage participation, those who are selected as early adopters will receive a backpack, a windbreaker and enter a lucky draw of two Asus Transformer Book T100 Windows Tablets (sponsored by Microsoft Hong Kong Limited). To submit your application, please click here, before Thursday (9th Jan) day end. Successful applicants will receive email notification from ITSC on/before Monday (13th Jan).

Should you have any queries, please do drop us an email at cchelp@ust.hk. We look forward to your participation!

Best regards,
Theresa Lo
